A Tough Fastening Base

Angles (or Base Angle) are secondary steel framing members used to fasten panels to at the low end of walls (eave or rake), as well as the upper end of rake walls. Available in red oxide or galvanized, Angles are standard at 20′ long, though some locations can cut to length.

Warranty & Finish

Metal framing components carry no specific warranty. Finish options include red iron (red oxide) and galvanized. Red iron is the more common finish and typically available in more sizes and gauges.

Purpose & Use

Angles are secondary steel framing members most often used to fasten panels to at the low end of walls (eave or rake), as well as the upper end of rake walls.

The shape of Angles does not allow end lapping – they are butted together. For the low end of walls, fastening is most commonly into concrete using concrete screws, wedge anchors or bolts. For the upper end of rake walls, fastening is typically using bolts or heavy gauge screws. Welding may be applicable in some construction methods.
