Tell me about one customer’s experience you’ll never forget?
One of my most rewarding memories involves my first sale – a standing seam metal roof for a customer in California back in 2008. Twelve years later, I received a call from the same customer. Their area had been devastated by a massive wildfire, with many of their neighbors’ homes reduced to ashes. While on the phone, they sent me a picture of their home, miraculously still standing thanks to the metal roof. Their small shed, however, had an asphalt roof and had burned to the ground and they were rebuilding. They wanted to order the same metal roofing, convinced it had saved their home. I cherish helping people select beautiful roofs, but hearing stories like this, where the functionality and benefits truly shine, reinforces the impact we have on people’s lives. It’s a powerful reminder that we are not just selling products, but providing solutions and making a real difference.

Q&A:

What is your motivating factor every day?
On a personal level, my family. My wife and three boys are amazing – I love working to provide for them and then coming home and leaving it all at the door. On a business level, developing. I love seeing team members thrive, products introduced, and business tools realized.

What is your favorite quote?
“Run hard. Play hard. Never quit. Always give your best. Whether you’re 0 for 4 or going for the cycle, don’t let it affect your tenacity.” – Ronald Acuña Sr.

How do you energize your team?
Coffee and donuts! Seriously, whether things are great or tough, Starbucks & Krispy Kreme is a great answer. One day I may give inspiring pep talks, but until then I’m a student in that field.
